The Northern Rivers is home to the three lowest postcodes for immunisation rates in Australia. With a high number of conscientious objectors, this is one of the most challenging factors in the region’s public health arena. As part of its commitment to increasing immunisation rates and disseminating the latest and most reliable information on the topic for parents and health providers, the Network maintains a vaccination website http://www.vaccination.org.au
Another element of the project is keeping health professionals in the loop with a regular newsletter Immune Response and regular workshops for doctors and nurses.
The Immunisation program is an Australian Government initiative.
