Aged Care Access Initiative
The function of the Aged Care Access Initiative (ACAI) is to improve access to primary care services (general practice and allied health) for residents living in Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs).
The Allied Health component of the ACAI allows for the provision of clinical care services on an individual or group basis, to residents in Commonwealth-funded Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) and Multipurpose Services (MPS) by an approved provider.

NRGPN Supporting The Active Resident (STAR) Program
Under the ACAI NRGPN contracts approved providers to conduct structured Falls Prevention exercise sessions which incorporate a combination of the well established Stepping On program, an exercise component to improve strength, balance, overall well being and memory enhancement for residents. See the STAR Program flow chart below.
The Aged Care Access Initiative is an Australian Government initiative.
